Thank you! Somebody finally agrees with me that Guns of Summer is not everything it's made up to be.

For me, it's the worst on the album (not counting One, since it's a pretty basic intro song). Technically impressive instrumentals do not always make a good song if not approached properly and let to breathe (if that makes sense).

The middle of the album is where the best material comes, for me. Starting with Here We Are Juggernaut -> Far -> This Shattered Symphony -> World of Lines -> Made Out of Nothing (All That I Am) -> Pearl of the Stars is just fantastic. It has been a LONG time since I've listened to an album with six amazing songs in a row.

Great review. I agree for the most part about "Guns of Summer", but only in the sense that it's an odd fit in the album, however, the drums are amazing on it.

Great review Thomas. It was interesting hearing the perspective of someone who isn't a Coheed-fanatic. Glad you enjoyed the record

Really don't know how I feel about this album. I've listened to it a few times all the way through and Im still indifferent. I like some of hte songs but others really just get lost, damn you C&C.

That member rating is remarkably low.

It took a few listens for me to really like this cd, but now I definitely do. Great review, great cd.

Thanks for the review- I'm really enjoy this album, particularly more than I liked No World for Tomorrow.

By the way, I felt that the sole purpose of Guns of Summer was to showcase Chris Pennie's drumming chops. Still a good song, though!

I absolutely love this album. Its taken me a week of having it to fully wrap my mind around the tracks I didn't like at first (Symphony, Pearl, Skeletons, Black Rainbow) but MAN... I think those songs are killer now. I think this has Claudios best melodies, but also most annoying pronuniation and it almost sounds obnoxious in places, even though it fits with the chaotic feel of the album. And also, Chris Pennie... Welcome to Coheed & Cambria.

Creativity isn't my thing, ya know?

Actually, if I ever give out nicknames, they're for something embarrassing or in regards to some weird trait. Not that it's weird, but I could start calling you Too Tall Tom if you'd like. Or T-Cubed. Shit, I'm right back to where I started. Man, I need to eat a Powerbar or something.
Hahaha. You can call me whatever you want, but I'm really just a fan of my normal name haha. But it's kinda cool when certain people call me certain things. Either way lol

I understand what you're saying. Now that I think of it, "Here We Are Juggernaut" and "Far" are stronger than "Skeletons" and "YOTBR" so my review would have been better off saying that the middle is the awesome part, not the end. Mehh, I don't know why I didn't think of that...

as a long time (starting with In Keeping Secrets) fan of this band, i reaaaally dug this album. It was an album for the fans who were already established. After Good Apollo vol 1, it could be seen that they were trying to wrangle new ranks to their 'army' of fans. Year of the Black Rainbow is definitely not an attempt to have every song be a potential single, which is the vibe i got from Good Apollo Vol. 2

all in all, though i can't see myself spinning this as much as i do In Keeping Secrets... i definitely enjoy it

As a long time die hard fan of the band this album disappointed me to no end. I wanted to cry when I got done listening to it because I though it was that bad. Pear Of The Stars is the only real stand-out track.
