Update From Yesterday's Rising

Posted by: Jon Foucart (08/23/06)
A new update from Yesterday's Rising is below.
YR UpdateHello everybody, we hope you are all doing well.
For the next couple weeks, we will be be writing what we feel is our most crucial and thought-out record to date. We have been writing in the mountains where we seclude ourselves from everything and do nothing but think about music. We have pondered a lot of ideas pertaining to the vibe of what we want our next record to be like. However, we are allowing our musical ideas to freely flow from our minds so it can be a natural process. We have always been a band of independence and have never written a song with the intension to outdo others. We strive to show our passion through our art. All of our new music is based on the sound, what it does to us when playing it aloud.
With that in mind we want you all to know what sound we have brewing in the pot. The ironic thing is that even though we sit down and write calmly, the music is most certainly not mellow. You can expect to hear the energy of When We Speak, We Breathe or Ship of Relations with a more mature approach musically. The songs are hard-hitting with a triumphant sound and lyrics that tell stories of deep thoughts as well as our typical curiosity of earth itself. We'll stop there, we'd like our record to be a revelation for everybody. We have talked with Fearless Records, and agreed that if we work hard and give it our all, they will put us in the studio with an incredible producer.
Our goal as musicians is to say in the end that we sucked ourselves dry of ideas and did everything we could to obliterate anything we've done. To our loyal and beautiful fans around the globe - please have faith that we will do this.

I've thought about it lately and Fearless kind of gave them the shaft. I thought Lightworker was a great cd when many people didn't but Fearless didn't do much of anything for YR like they have for other bands such as Gatsby's, Portugal the Man, So They Say and The Fully Down to name a few. Yesterdays Rising is as credible as all those bands but still don't get what they deserve. I really hope this record turns some heads and puts this band out there So I can see them and they can survive on tour.

I fully agree. I don't really see Fearless do much for this band at all.

You might of liked lightworker but it was a total let down from the first album. Im sure Fearless put as much money in to the seconad album as the did the first you always put more money to an L.P. then an E.P. The album just didn't please that many people thats all!

I really really want the drum production of When We Speak We Breathe. That's what made that EP one of the best I have ever heard. Ever.

Yeah, I totally agree as well. Justin told me that on their last tour, they came home early 'cause they weren't makin' any money on tour... no one buying merch and such.......... sucks.....

the band also doesnt really tour much, as opposed to other bands on the Fearless roster who are on tour for the majority of the year. it's their own fault as much as the label's

They dropped off that tour with Versus the Mirror 4 or 5 days into the tour from what I heard.
