In Fall Out Boy you would seem to have the best of both worlds. You're fairly anonymous, you probably get recognized a lot less than the average frontman who's sold as many records as you have. Or was it too much anonymity?
Dunno why, but that question pissed me off, good interview though, can't wait to here the album.
not really a ton of new info. i'm just itching to get some of the music at this point, i think i've heard him talk about it enough.
the one thing that stood out to me was that he said that it wouldn't be a rock record. not that it was surprising or anything, but i guess it means his album will be more different from fob than i thought it would be. i was kind of assuming that it would be generally going in the same direction that fob's albums had been heading, away from punk for sure, but still maintaining a rock feel in the general sense.
this interview really didn't say anything new. i hoped that he would have at least given some sort-of time firm of when we can't expect the album to come out. although if my memory is correct i remember him telling MTV, i think it was, that the solo album will be mixed in May.
I can think of other bands where the lead singer wasn't really the main guy, the focus of the attention.
Wentz (obviously).
Good interview but nothing was really new, wished he would have talked more about touring; it would be nice to have heard him say he was going to play a show or two down east as a solo performer and not in FOB.
It bugged me too cause anyone can recognize him, but I get that he meant that Pete Wentz was the most famous and known FOB member.
Also, can't wait to hear some actual music instead of more interviews
Really?

I don't get recognized at all. I'm not used to getting recognized. It really is a unique position. There's certainly not a lot of solo artists in that situation. I can think of other bands where the lead singer wasn't really the main guy, the focus of the attention. But I can't think of a lot of times where that guy then goes off and does a solo record. I think I have the good fortune of seeing [fame] happen to someone else very close to me ... so I think I have a very good handle on it.
