Why aren't all the lyrics the same then?

Eh. I like the song, kill me.

Anyways, if I had to guess, Runner Runner wrote this song and then they hung out with Framing Hanley and were like "here's this idea for a song we did a demo for about a year ago, and it's just been lying around. We like it but don't really want to put it on our CD, check it out!" and then they wrote the version you hear now and Framing Hanley recorded.

I mean, that's not possible or anything, right? It's clearly gotta be such plagiarism that they stole the entire song minus the verses because both of these bands suck according to all of you, right?
But Runner Runner actually released the song...?

welcome to the wonderful world of "co-writes". look at that link above from the ascap title search. Runner Runner (and some extra help) wrote and own the song "Back to Go Again". It would seem that they didn't use it and gave permission to Framing Hanley to have it with the writers to keep their ownership. This is what happens in music now all the time. All of these pop bands that use other people's songs, then change a couple of lyrics and they call it a "co-write"

look through that ascap title search. you maybe be very surprised at what you can find
Um, but they did use it.

I am surprised no explanation and/or damage control from the bands or labels yet.

It's Pretty obvious that Runner Runner licensed the song to Framing Hanley. According to ASCAP...

Performers:
RUNNER RUNNER

Variations:
(none found)
Am I missing something?

Are you sure that the Runner Runner version wasn't a demo of Framing Hanley's? Or vice versa?
Runner Runner released it on an EP in 2009 and they are credited with the songwriting. Either FH bought it (lame) or stole it (even more lame).

You know what, I have a brilliant idea. Maybe you should email FH label, or a member of FH and get the story from them?

If you have already done that, then you should remove this ridiculous and very pointless "news story" until you find out what really went down.

You're a staff member, act professional.
But this is more fun. If they had something to say, they could always email or post in here.

and by the way, absolute punk picked and featured the song, not the band. they probably would have picked photographs and gasoline or bittersweet sundown.
Um, pretty sure the label or publicist picked it, not us.

And sorry, any band or "artist" that co-writes is pretty much a joke.
