That's pretty good - what are your goals?

If you're running on your off days make sure to have some good complex carbs before and maybe some BCAAs, and try to do 20 minutes of HIIT, not like 60 min jogging on the treadmill. It really depends on your goals, I think you have your diet down if I remember correctly, right?

If you're running on your off days make sure to have some good complex carbs before and maybe some BCAAs, and try to do 20 minutes of HIIT, not like 60 min jogging on the treadmill. It really depends on your goals, I think you have your diet down if I remember correctly, right?
Yes I do. Well when I first got your help I was 205, and now I'm down to 189. I was thinking of getting around 175-180, because I am 6'2, almost 6'3. I do want to add muscle.

Thanks a lot. Just one more question. My friend who I've been working out with wants to add in a complex on wednesdays. I've never heard of it before, but he described it as like 5 workouts, with no rest inbetween. I don't really like the sound of that, I wanted your opinion.

That sounds like overtraining, and isn't something you really need to be doing for your goals. Does he mean supersetting? Like doing 5 exercises and switching off with no time in between? It really doesn't do anything other than keep your heart rate up.

Alright, now first off..I am not tremendously fat. I'm overweight. Based on my height/age chart, I should be around 160-175 or so. I'm about 225-230. I need to lose weight and gain muscle, I wanna do it seriously.

Has anyone ever lost a lot of weight without actually dieting, but just working out? What are the best excercise to do?

I wanna get in shape without having to go on a diet. I wanna just gain muscle and condition myself better.


Calling it a "diet" is setting yourself up for failure. Just eat healthy and often. Preferably 8 small meals per day to keep your metabolism running.

Cardio/Training/Diet/Rest all go hand in hand. If you really want to get into good shape, just make sure you commit. Once you get a routine down, it's incredibly easy to stay on track.

Eat cleaner and do some HIIT on your offdays. Don't eat less, just make sure the food that you're eating a lot of is clean food.
