this is an amazing album. if you haven't listened to them then you might be disoriented at first, but keep listening and let your ears direct you to listening to all of the things that are put into these ambient and poetic songs. i love it. great review by the way.
I think that "Brother, Sister" has to be appreciated for what it is. I personally love every one of the albums that mwY has put out and though they differ greatly from each other, I almost prefer this. I personally get sick of bands that stick to one sound and never venture from it for fear of criticism. mwY has definitely come across as a band that is willing to explore different sounds and see what they are and are not capable of, and because of this I believe that their legend will grow. I almost see the four CD's as a blessing: there is one for nearly ever mood that you are in. Maybe I'm slightly biased because they are my favorite band, but they definitely are unlike anything else I have heard. Lyrically they are incredible, being both metaphorical and deep but without needless confusion setting in. I realize that they are certainly not a sound for everyone to enjoy, but if someone is into different music with a catchy beat and poetic lyrics, certainly check these guys!
