What the fuck is up with everyone talking about how this is just another commercial hip hop album? And how Drake's lyrics aren't "deep" or are "without substance." The beats on this album are so sparse and spacey and Drake's verses often extend the standard length. Plus 6 of the tracks extend past 5 minutes, with one being a 7 minute sex epic. Drake rhymes about his own personal issues with fame, women, etc., but somehow that's too mainstream or not meaningful? How about the numerous records lauded on this site that are entirely about girls (ahem, TAYF)? It's cool if you don't like him, but those are such bullshit arguments. |
