I've been pleasantly surprised by this album. The Boston, Queen, etc influences are pretty blatant, but I think that's why I'm really enjoying it.
Also, I totally feel the Smashing Pumpkins influence you mention in the review - is the beginning of Wildlife his attempt at impersonating Billy Corgan?

And, dude, I'm totally making a copy for my dad - I immediately thought the same thing because of the classic rock elements

Excellent review. But I cannot stand this band. Powerspace and Thee Armada were better. But this is all opinion and to each their own I guess.
