I'm listening to this band for the first time, as we speak, and it's not bad at all.
Dude, you rock. I love how open minded you are about new music. Thumbs up, dude. :)

i did read it

i was quick to give my 2 cents based on the scores...not so much the review

does anyone else feel like this band sounds a tad like anberlin? (thats not a bad thing)
Yeah, I get a bit of an Anberlin vibe from them. Not as good just yet, though. Maybe in time.

Did you even read the review? Shit...I had tons of good things to say about it...people get so wrapped up in a score. 76% is above average.

I just got a 76 on my accounting exam. But with the curve its actualy a B

I'd say that's a pretty fair review.
I found out about them a couple of months ago. I love Between the Trees.
The first thing that got me hooked was definitely the vocals.
White Lines and Red Lights is the best song on the album. No doubt about it.

Yeah, I can definitely see that. Good call.

You seem pretty attached to them, so I'm just going to say that you can't think that a listener will understand the full idea of an album with the only cursor being the music itself. It just sounds really forced to me.

Even if you know something I don't, you can't expect me to go out of my way to find out when it already comes off to me as not appealing. Fair enough?

Actually, you don't really have to seek anything out about thi song. The reason the album is entitled "The Story and the Song" is because on the inside of the libretto (where the words to the songs are) is printed the story of To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) and why the song "The Way She Feels" relates to the story.

And yes, I think that the song might have greater meaning to those who believe in Christ, but it's still a very good song about Renee and her story. I'd encourage anyone (Christian or not) to read about TWLOHA here: www.twloha.com

Thanks!

This is a great review, but I can't seem to like this band as much as everyone else does; I find them a little too, I don't know. Corny?

"STIIIICKS AND STOOONES MAY BREAK MY BOOONES..."

I think "The Way She Feels" is a pretty cheesy song, as well.

Do you even know what that song is about?

I couldn't get into any of this when I listened on PureVolume, unfortunately. I had a problem with some of the lyrics and listening to it just made me want to put on Anberlin or Acceptance or Jimmy Eat World or something, but great review nonetheless.

Yeah I mean it is a little sappy for some people, so I understand. Thanks for the props, though!

I think the fact that the whole band is under the age of 20 definitely matters when you listen to the record. The songs they have written are much more mature than that.
The connection to TWLOHA is huge because not only did they write 2 songs on the record for it, but they donate a portion of each sale to TWLOHA and the inclusion of the story in the album notes is up for a grammy.
this cd, to me, is one of the best of 06', and it's well worth the 10 bucks.
