haha. the essentials for me, off the top of my head would be something like: hot water music (no division, forever and counting, caution), the lawrence arms (the greatest story ever told, oh calcutta), latterman (no matter where we go), dillinger four (versus god, civil war), the bouncing souls, off with their heads (in desolation) bad religion (suffer), strung out and propagandhi (todays empires, tomorrows ashes, how to clean everything).

i'm sure the other regulars around here have a lot more to add that i'm obviously forgetting. but yeah, that's a little start. haha.
