Yeah, this is among the best book-to-film adaptations I have seen. I don't remember much from the book (it's been almost 5 years since I read it) besides liking it, so I didn't really expect much from the film. I loved it. Charlie reminds me too much of myself sometimes, I almost cried. Lerman did so much better than I could have dreamed, Miller was surprisingly excellent, and I definitely liked Watson way more than everyone else seems to. Definitely one of my favorite movies from this year.

I'm really surprised by how much love this is getting from fans of the book. I loved the book, but the movie was just aiight for me dawg. I felt like characters were under-developed, I wasn't feeling Emma Watson as Sam, and there was heaps of stuff left out. I understand that you have to cut things down for a movie, but it just seemed a bit rushed to me.

Just watched this again and enjoyed it. Also read the book earlier in the day and felt that the stuff that got cut out was alright. The deleted scenes go into Candace's abortion a little more but it could have never fit in perfectly with the current movie.

I am excited to listen to the two commentaries with the trio and Chbosky.

Probably on a larger scale though, since it already had the fans of the book as a built in fanbase.

They're both great. Chbosky couldn't be more humble and hearing him gush about the kids and the finished product was great.

It's been a few years since I last read the book, but I watched the film last night and I almost felt the way I did when I read the book for the first time. Terrific adaptation.
