04:45 PM on 09/24/10 | They sound like AA! because they recorded with Caleb.
|
05:17 PM on 09/24/10 | They sound just like Attack Attack without the synths.

05:25 PM on 09/24/10 | Ay payita mia, guardate la poesia Not directly related, but I'm loving the appreciation for Woe, Is Me here, I'm sure they'll progress from and top Number[s] when they have more time to write than they did for that CD.
On My Ticket Home, well, they've gotten better since that EP with Barack, Paper, Scissors on it ... but yeah, they're just another Rise band to my ears.

05:54 PM on 09/24/10 | Woe is Me really need to break away from this genre. Their singer is one of the best out there and they restrict themselves to making the same cookie cutter music as every other Rise band. |
i agree that the singer is talented, the sound of the other guys made me not like them, and the singer of Woe is me reminds me of the singer of I Am Abomination, they have the same style of singing

07:23 PM on 09/24/10 | Rise Records makes me resent my home state and I don't appreciate it. Then again, I suppose the music scene was one of my greatest catalysts for leaving.
|
09:05 PM on 09/24/10 | I honestly can't tell their vocalist apart at all, they sound musically and vocally identical to attack attack, they just don't use synth.
Why would we complain that they signed a good band? That's when we'll be happy that a good band is getting label support. No on here is saying Rise is a bad label, they do a great job promoting bands for the most part, it just gets old when they sign the same band over and over when there are other great bands they are passing up. Signing bands like these lowers the popular opinion of an otherwise fine label like Rise.
American Me, Attack Attack, Miss May I, My Ticket Home, The Plot in You, Before Their Eyes, The Color Morale, The Devil Wears Prada, Ten After Two, For the Fallen Dreams, In Fear and Faith, Of Mice and Men, Legend, Scarlett O'hara, Woe is Me, Abandon All Ships, Sleeping With Sirens, Those Who Lie Beneath and Ms. White might be a little confused though. Especially more so with just instrumental songs. A lot of these bands sound similar in a way, some more so than others. |
Axe TDWP off that list. They're not on Rise anymore. Just saying. Other than that....point taken.

09:19 PM on 09/24/10 | All I had to do was see the promo picks. Same straightened hair kids that were all bit by the ugly spider. And then read the comments on here. Yep, the terrible pile of bands signed to this label continues to rise. (see what I did there?)

List I say said they have joint distribution with Ferret so I counted it. Either way.

Why would recording with someone change your entire style to sound exactly like Attack attack? They sound like them because they lack originality and think it would help them get signed, which worked I guess.
Who is they in that sentence? I definitely like I am Abomination's EP more than Woe Is Me's album, but I think their full length wasn't as good. Know what I mean?
|
09:37 PM on 09/24/10 | Yes, because pmtoday, This Is Hell, Emarosa, Dance Gavin Dance, Piebald, In Fear & Faith, Tides Of Men, Mswhite, Miss May I and Oceana sound EXACTLY the same... |
Lol, you named a few of the actual ones that are different (dance gavin dance, tides of men, and oceana). The rest? No. EXACTLY the same.
