I'm gonna have to rate WANARTB higher just because I can't get into "Friday Night". And, knowing the story behind WANARTB, it makes the songs that much more powerful. Also, I guess because that was the album that got me into Valencia.
That being said, this is still a worthy follow-up. I can definitely hear Trombino's influence. The title track is so catchy, great way to kick off the album. My favorite is "Losing Sleep". What a monster song - so intense musically, vocally, lyrically. Reminds me of Foo Fighters. Kind of my anthem at the moment.
bought this off the bassist for four bucks at the Best Tour Ever and it finally took me till this weekend to give it a fair listen. And damn, it was probably the best four bucks I've spent. Phenomenal album.
Listening to this right now, and reading through the comments. How silly.
Valencia has been in my top 5 for years now, this album shot them up higher. I love them & this album especially. I know the theme for the last album means the world to Shane and probably a lot of other people out there but I definitely enjoyed the diversity in the lyricism for a change, makes it more relate-able in my opinion.
Valencia has broken up since this album/review and I'm bummed, they have good reasons though (RIP Max) but I here Shane is working on another POR release, now that I would love more of. I think When the Flowers Bloom is my favorite in terms of lyrics and vocals of Shane.
