Message Thrive Records Inks Much Buzzed About Philadelphia Pop-rock Group Liam and Me. Label Expands Scope of Roster in 2007.
Los Angeles CA - Thrive Records announces the signing of Philadelphia based pop-rock group Liam and Me. After immediate success with their buzzed about self-release "There’s a Difference" early this year, the band was fervently sought after by indie and major labels alike.
"Liam and Me might just be the best band of 2006 that you have never heard of.”
- Absolutepunk.net
In February 2007, Liam and Me will head into the studio with LA producer
Dave Trumfio (OK Go, Granddaddy, Elkland, Wilco) to craft a brand new album, comprised of revamped versions of existing potential hits along with an entire batch of great new songs. Their as yet untitled album will be available on Thrive in Spring 2007.
Formed just two and a half years ago, Liam and Me is quickly becoming known
for their pairing of well-crafted hooky melodies with imaginative and dynamic arrangements – an art rock band masquerading under bona-fide radio singles. Their fun, rhythmic, and emotional style evokes fond memories of Reagan-era bands – think The Cars, The Cure – with a contemporary rock edge.
Liam and Me has built a solid Northeast fan base with their dynamic live performances, sharing a stage with such acts as The Sounds, Reliant K, and The Shiny Toy Guns, and with performances at the Vans Warped Tour, SXSW, and the recently popular Bamboozle festival.
Previously known as one of the nations most influential electronic music and soundtrack labels (Deep Dish, Paul Oakenfold, Roni Size, Pi OST, Memento OST, etc.), Thrive Records is transitioning its roster to encompass a wider range of sounds. Liam and Me is the second rock act to sign to Thrive, following the 2006 release of Foo Fighters' drummer Taylor Hawkins' side project, Taylor Hawkins & The Coattail Riders. Hipster/party DJ kings Mark Ronson and Steve Aoki will also be releasing albums on Thrive in 2007.
