it's hard to hear how close to death he was (like when he says he flatlined a few times during the surgeries), but it is so great to hear how well he is doing compared to how they thought he'd be doing. and he seems to be the same old matthew, using long words and joking about everything.

I met him a few years back when they were touring with Halifax. Guy is real nice. Good to know he's doing good.

im floored by this story every time i read about it -- what a stand-up guy. a terrible, yet inspiring story

there should be more people in the world like this. such an amazing story with what seems to be very close to a happy ending.

The woman dropped charges and never thanked him? Fuck that, what a weak woman.

I don't like Medina Lake but the guy is obviously a saint, i hope his band achieves all the success they want.
