Yeah, he didn't hit all of them, but you have to give him credit... I wouldn't have hit half of them, anyway.
Doesn't matter if you can't hit the notes, give credit for what? Not being able to recreate what is on the record? which I thought was the point of being in a touring band playing shows? That fact that the notes are hard to hit is his fault for laying down those vocal melodies on the record in the first place, perhaps he should have recorded in ranges that he can perform live more comfortably, again something I was eluding to with my first post. Tired of every clean singer trying to do the whole Anthony Green/Dallas Green super high pitched vocal only to be shown up when performing live.

Live shows are definitely harder to hit notes in. Primarily because you have to be louder than the crowd.

It's still perfectly possible, I've seen bands who have singers singing able to recreate their parts on record live. It could just be that they're better singers with proper training, but singers should have the technical ability to pull off what they record. If they can't reach the notes consistently live, then they shouldn't record in that range until they have improved their technical ability.

* shrug * personally, I value CDs over tour, so I'm okay with it if it sounds good on disk. Fair enough?

Well you can make a perfectly decent album, without having to rely too much on some auto tune correction so that you can sing super stratospheric vocal ranges that you will never pull off live well. I think the more vocalists and people realise this, the sooner we can agree on how much we enjoy a band :P
