Chris Fallon

There have been several bookmark years in my lifespan. Not in all my 27 years upon this earth can I recall such a vivacious and celebrated year for music that was 2010. Not a bad way to kick off a new decade, huh? Between the emotional toils and battles of wits, this year's pallet offered me comfort and solace in a way I had never really anticipated or experienced beforehand. There were the dark layers of blunt punk rock, nostalgic rock n' soul and brilliantly conceived pop music that contained intelligence. In all honesty, this year's list was the most difficult to compile simply due to how strong many of the records stuck with me. 2010 has been an undeniably heart-wrenching and exhausting year - for several reasons. One thing I can take comfort with, however, is that through it all... I found a few precious melodies to make it worth the hassle.

I think this list will align the most with my own (save for different rankings and such, namely with JEW being as "low" as it is). Awesome stuff as always, Chris.

Mentionings of the honorable variety, if I were to guess.

Have to check out The Graduate now. First time in the last three years I've disagreed with you on AotY.

Love Fake Problems at #5 though. Does Ted Hutt just find great bands to produce for or is he the unsung hero of rock and roll's recent revival?

Heh, I would've been disappointed if you didn't have The Graduate at #1. Looks like I have some catching up to do in listening to some of the other listed bands, though. Good stuff.
