Way too early in the game for me to explain. I don't have enough reference points on the map yet to be able to figure out where exactly it is. As far as Winterhold College goes, you can buy the spell she wants you to cast from her. Just do that, cast it, and you're in. Simple simple.

Yeah, I didn't have enough mana to actually cast the spell though. She was selling a hood that added 40 to it though, so I bought that and got in. Now I'm chilling down in some caves trying to figure out some Snake/Whale/Eagle puzzle so I don't get shot by more poison darts.

The combination for that is right there in the room. Just look around.

Yeah, I solved the first one that was just three statues. This one has 6, three on each wall. I've looked high and low, still not seeing it. I'm sure I'll catch it next time I hop on.

Quick question:

I want to be as much of a mage as possible, but I'm struggling with wearing weak armour like robes. If I was to wear the metal armours, will it lower the effectiveness of my spells? Or does it just remain the same?

Not at all. In fact, don't waste your time, after only 4 hours I think it's safe to say that this game negates the need to play the other.

I just finished it and after 70 hours of gameplay, I really miss the game. It takes a little bit but I got so into the story and espicially the characters, i never wanted to stop playing. The combat gets way better one you start leveling up and learning new moves.

It's a fascinating game, I would say stick with it since I was in the exact same boat as you and eventually loved it.
