i also got to see both this year, and i agree with you, that pitch wise, the tides of man dude was good live. pretty damn flawless for sure. the thing is, he lacked stage presence to me. i got bored watching them at times. anthony definitely isn't as perfect live, but he puts on a good show in addition to what he's singing. i also think he writes better/more memorable melodies. gotta give it to anthony

Both Tides of Man albums have been superb, this is a big loss for the band. Hopefully they can find a suitable replacement. I'm really surprised to read people thinking Kurt Travis would be perfect, I can't imagine his voice working in Tides of Man at all.

If the Saosin rumours are true though, this could be a great way to put them back on the map.

I think it's funny that everyone's hoping a great vocalist left a great band (seriously, both Empire Theory and Dreamhouse are fantastic) to join a band that insists on driving themselves into the fucking ground more and more after each release.

Let Sal from Envy On The Coast step up to this and be vocalist.

First of all I am devastated by this news. Tides is one of my favorite bands, and seeing Tillian leave is the equivalent in my ind of Robert Plant leaving Zeppelin. Although I think the other band members can hold their own, I don't know if I can listen to anyone sing Western Scene or Rescue.
