i would argue that giant swan is probably the best blood brothers album closer out of any of their albums. i really don't see how the album loses steam during the second half. good review though.
It's a good closer, but I really like "The Shame" from BPIB. I saw that song performed live and from that moment on, it was my favorite closer. It's just such a massive ending and they went on repeating the last line for about 10 minutes instead of the usual 4 or so. It was awe inspiring.

This album rips, though it did not come even close to Burn Piano Island, Burn. Good review though.

Loved the review. I know so many fans hate the album because it is "Burn Piano..." but i think the vocals are so much better, and they have progressed musically.

Definitely one of the best rock albums of 06', if your a fan of Blood Brothers I dont how you can say this is not some of their best work, especially on a whole album spectrum. Lyrically, musically, and cohesiveness on this album far surpasses Crimes...not to take anything away from Crimes but Young Machetes is just better.

Personally I thought that the new album sounds A TON like neon blonde.

which is sad because I was wanting some new blood brothers.

Yeah "1,2,3,4 Guitars" has a clear Neon Blonde tinge. It seems a little less "out there" than Neon Blonde though.

I thought this album was a dissappointment. I was so hyped for it and then I got it, and nothing special to it

This seems like Crimes: Part 2 to me. They're equals in my book, really, but I still have a lot more fun with Crimes.

It does get even better when you see it live. The two or three times I've seen The Blood Brothers since YM's release have been quite magical, really.
