It's too easy to permanently delete texts and most cell phones only hold the last 100 texts anyway. Any idiot should be smart enough to cover his tracks. I really don't see why this is such a big deal.

It'd make sense if police actually intercepted your text messages, but physically searching through your phone to read your messages seems absurd.
