Head Control System - Murder Nature

When Chester Bennington and Jonathon Davis have children...

Who?

Head Control System is Portugese national Daniel Kardoso and Norweigan Kristoffer Rygg. Thrown in a studio together, you have a mixture of two seemingly interesting ingredients that come out of the oven as a very bland, over-produced nu-metal experiment. While they are sure to find their following among the make-up and chain clad Scandinavian death-metalists, they're music won't be finding much hold with an American that's grown out of its backwards red baseball cap.

How is it?

Released on The End Records, Head Control System's debut album "Murder Nature" is an exercise in over-production and self-indulgence in the form of playing with studio equipment. While aesthetically the album is clean and well put-together, it really puts the 'death' into death metal - there is nothing alive about this record. It's a robot of a record from two musicians who spent more time growing their beards and developing their "automatic, stream-of-consciousness" lyrical style than thinking of what makes music worth listening to. This is not to say that the record isn't well made or unprofessional - just lacking the heart to find an audience of real music fans.
