Not saying Mogwai isn't great, but how many albums can you even have heard from this year? Haha.

This is the best month i've lived through this year.

Good review. Don-t really agree with the RIYLs though, haha.

I like that Mogwai is pretty much a lot more "down to earth" in its music.
As someone who pays attention to some instrumental rock (Pelican, God Is An Astronaut, Explosions, Jakob, Mono, Russian Circles, The Album Leaf) I like how Mogwai is more scaled down than most.
And they manage to sound fresher than most as well, even if not my faves of the genre.

Honestly, I never got into this band and checked this record out on a whim about a week ago. It's undoubtedly the shit, and once I've listened to this too much I'm gonna backtrack into their older stuff. Unnecessary sidebar, I got laid to this record a couple nights ago and I'd recommend it almost as much as I would getting the record in general.
There's a thread for this.

Wow, disagree with your score vehemently. Super disappointed in this album, and I liked The Hawk Is Howling.

I mean I'm by no means a seasoned veteran of the genre. Those are among the handful of bands "like" Mogwai that I know, hence why I use them as examples. You'd definitely know better how to RIYL this record than I would, haha.

I vehemently respect your opinion and still love this record and want to sleep with it every night. Haha <3
