his material isn't marketable -- in that it doesn't glamourize guns, money, and bitches.
i agree that more people need to be listening to him though.
I get what you're saying completely... but.. I feel like that's not true. I think there definitely is that crowd that wouldn't be immediately into him because he's so atypical... but I think because he's so honest and true. And so intelligent and eloquent.. I really think there are a lot of people that wouldn't normally listen to rap that would love his work. Heck, I'm one of those people. I definitely have a bias against the genre.. it's just so negative and for the most part unintelligent. Shad would appeal to so many people that never gave hip-hop a try before. It's really just poetry with great beats behind it.
