Such a great step for music. Unfortunately a large portion of the general public has tunnel vision and will never listen to anything outside of "pop" radio. Saddens me quite a bit.

I love how someone's justification for why Esperanza Spalding shouldn't have won is that her Twitter account isn't verified.

They just won the "Best International Album" at the BRIT awards in the UK and said;

"Hey...we're The Arcade Fire...check out on Google".

You know, I'm not a huge Arcade Fire fan but im a HUGE fan of the things they've done. The music is good, and the ideas they've had (thewildernessdowntown.com among others) are brilliant. I know the tumblr was made to be funny but its honestly REALLY depressing to me when statements like "the fact that arcade fire are winning over people who have actually made an impact on the music industry is really fucking annoying" are made. Because while its a HUGE win for "the little guy" and the "counter culture" crowd we pride ourselves in being, were still a minority. Pop rules the world and people will always be THAT dumb
