To Write Love On Her Arms in a non profit that spreads awareness about depression and suicide.
They are launching thier own version of Hopeline (sort of) in the next year. It will be a 24/7 online chat service that will be available to anyone with concerns or problems.
Honestly, as a person that has been helped by TWLOHA and the work they do, it really sucks to see ignorant people who dont understand it talking down on the programs cause they find it trendy.
The movie is about the orgins of TWLOHA and where it all began, with Renee and Jamie.
And im not trying to start shit on here, thats not my thing. Im just saying they help a lot of people. |
No one is talking it down for being trendy, in fact in this someone asked what they do *myself* and was answered that hopeline deserves more credit.
TWLOHA is heavily trendy, it's not the consumers fault if the company is perceived as trendy and not much else, I've never heard about them doing anything or what they specifically do. Them helping people is good, but their public image is more branding and merchandise than awareness.
It would be like buying shirts from a charity with cancerisbad on, without an explanation, how do we know what they are specifically doing?
=] not starting shit either, just my view on it, they are shit at making people aware of what they actually do, to the passerby it's just some trendy shit all the kids seem to be wearing, which I guess is a shame.
