Straylight Run Signing

Straylight Run have signed with Universal Music Group. Their major-label debut, The Needle, The Space, will hit stores on June 19th.

In other news, we will be running a tour contest with them hopefully starting next week. Stay tuned for details!

I still say they should have done something on their own instead of going on a major now.

I still say they should have done something on their own instead of going on a major now.
people know who they are already.

We can't all be The Format. As great as the Nolans are, they probably don't know that much about doing it yourself, especially distro deals and the necessary amount of promotion that comes with any album. Having a label - especially a major - can be very benefactory. Which is pretty much why they exist in the first place.

i disagree,

i think if they really wanted to they could have. it just would have been more work.
however, im glad they did this.

the fact that they already recorded the album before signing a deal is good because the major label won't be influencing their sound.

i really hope this works out for them. i think they are an awesome band and they are great live

i just hate seeing it when bands leave victory and that's kind of the end of them...

They'll also be making more money. Band's have to pay back recording costs before they see a dime off of record sales. This way, they picked up the costs before the label did. Smart.
