Umm yeah Sleeping At Last is pure gold. Every month Yearbook astounds me even more and this month had Jon Foreman collaborating. Every album/EP they make blows me away. I have them all and might be obsessed as well.

When you program the electronic beats, it makes you a musician. You're organizing a composition, utilizing the samplers/keyboards/tap pads/ computers as instruments.

Is Kanye West a musician? If so, so is Adam Young.

true but it all depends on who makes what happen. does owl city make his own beats/samples/electronic compositions? the same also applies to huge artists like Kanye....i for some reason doubt Kanye comes out with his own samples but rather has a high level producer come up with them for him.

I think it's pretty well known that Adam Young does all of this on his own, or at least has in the past. He was self-produced on his first two albums, and I think even a bit on Ocean Eyes, if not all.

I'm not a huge fan of Kanye, so I'm not sure about him, but I know he's an integral part of beat making for his own music. He probably works with other producers, but hell, Brian Wilson and Paul McCartney worked together and came up with ideas for one another..didn't make them any less of musicians, but rather all the more stronger.

You could even go with the idea that solely singing, and creating a lyrical melody over a manufactured beat is still being a "musician," as the voice is still an instrument. Acapella music is still music.

He has an annoying look for some reason, but compared to a lot of shit that's out there nowadays, this guy's a pretty solid pop artist. Some of his early work was superb.

It does kinda seem like he's lip syncing there. Strange though. I've seen him multiple times live, and he never lip synched. He wasn't spot on by any means, but definitely was hitting the vast majority of the notes.

yeah Ive never seen him, but he's definitely lip syncing there, you can tell when he pulls away. i grew out of him after maybe im dreaming, its cool the success he's made though.
