New year, next 100 albums. In the Wee Small Hours today, how soothing and nice

What are your favourites from the first 100 that you hadn't heard prior to this challenge?

I'm gonna sit down and actually go up from #1 in order and listen to each one I think. I have way too much time on my hands anyway haha.

Anyone got a link to the original list? I can't find it anywhere. I need to decide whether to use the new one or old one.

Original list: http://archer2000.tripod.com/sbs/awardsrs500.html

I think that's the original anyway, it's the one I've been using.

I tried going in order for a while, but I got bored, so now I just dip and choose into this list at random really. Probably means I'm never gonna hear every album though.

Lots of good stuff on there, lots of Zeppelin, was the first time you listened to them though this thread?

Not sure that sentence makes much sense, but you know what I mean.

First time I've listened to albums, I now have all their stuff on my computer and am going through album-by-album, really really liking them

I need to listen to more Zeppelin. I've known that for years and yet...oh well I'll get to them.

Minutemen - Double Nickels on the Dime

It's pretty good, got a wide range of influences (spoken word, jazz, country and good old fashioned rock n roll) and subject matter, all played with fast, punk fury. It also reminded me a bit of Captain Beefheart at times, which means it's always interesting. I'm a bit ashamed that I hadn't heard it sooner, as it's clearly influenced by a lot of my favourite artists and also clearly influenced a lot of my favourite artists.

The big but though, it's 45 songs and runs for 80 minutes, which means the songs are about a minute and a half each. So inevitably, it all gets a wee bit samey at times. It's definitely good though and I plan on listening again soon!

Bit of a life crisis of late. Just haven't been online hardly at all. Should be in the rearview mirror though.

I would love to do something like this but I don't even find time to listen to the things I want to listen to.

Feel free to jump in at any point in time and listen to a random album and discuss it here, as that is essentially what this thread has become! I think their are only a very few people who post here that are seriously listening to every single record. I'd love to as well, but there's always so much stuff to listen to haha.
