Hmm it didn't seem to have too much of an effect. I say good, no one is gonna buy a song by a mediocre band to make a point. It would have worked better if everyone bought songs by independant artists in general, and by sheer volume the charts would be taken over, rather than a blip for one day.

Yeah, I bought the song, to support "the cause" but it's not that great. I'd prefer some corporate marketed decent music. Am I bad person? No. I like good music.

What was the song? Also I agree with the first comment, they should have done it for independent artists in general rather then just one artist.

The Song is by Black Lab and called "Mine Again". You can hear it on their myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/blacklabband. I'm not sure how I feel about it...it's not great by any means, but not that bad.

I don't think bumrush is really going to make much of a difference...in anything.

Fuck you.

Also The Washington Post & San Jose Mercury News will be publishing articles this week on the suspicious "Fraazing" of the iTunes charts from yesterday & Today according to Paul Durham lead singer of Black Lab.

Great band.
Great song.

Man, they could have chosen a less bland MOR band/song to support.

Something with a bit more... principle behind it as well would have been nice. Leftover Crack' "Clear Channel (Fuck Off)" for example.

I'm sorry, but I am not going to go out and buy a song from some mediocre, obscure band just to "stick it to the man". Music is completely subjective to the ear of the beholder -- telling the hordes of the internet to buy a particular song from a particular artist is generally an atrocious idea.

I could really care less if I am supporting corporate labels or independent labels. Just give me some music that is worth listening to at a fair price, and I'll be happy.

Damn, there goes my scene points.

ok, so to stick it to the man (the man wants us to play the music they tell us to) we are going to buy a song by some fairly unknown artist because they tell us to. makes perfect sense

Haha oh God I totally forgot about Black Lab. What was that song they had like a decade ago... "Time Ago"?
