Muse Plans For Reading and Leeds

Posted by: Kyle Huntington (03/29/11)
Muse confirmed that they will play their 2001 album, Origin Of Symmetry, in full for their forthcoming Reading and Leeds festival headline slots. The band will play other material through their set as well, but this will be the last time they will play some of these earlier songs.

Was planning on giving them a miss, but if they're doing a hefty proportion of older songs then I'll be there for sure. Lots of the first three albums would be just fantastic.

They're earlier songs are better though! But, they don't really fit in as well with the crazy stage setups they have these days...Glad I saw them on their Black Holes tour, that was awesome!

hmmm, they can't play that much other stuff given that headline slots are only about 2 hours long if that.

My thoughts exactly. I can't imagine not seeing New Born live ever again.

Fuck them. I hate when bands do this shit - it's disrespectful to fans... Not to mention they barely play any material off it in the states anyway. Even when I saw them in '05, they only played a few compared to the slew they play at UK shows.

I met Josh Freese once and asked him why Trent Reznor plays "Hurt" every fucking night. Seems to "cheapen" the impact when it's played so much IMO. Apparently, Trent's philosophy is that there is always a fan at every show that has never seen him before - may have even been a fan for 10+ years - and he plays it for them. I applaud the hell out of that!
