This man is brilliant in his writing. I knew I looked up to him in a musical sense, but I never expected to revere him in this kind of setting.

can you explain the last sentence?

In our last year of high school, this is what we did in English 1. We studied pomo theory mainly so this reminded me of Barthes (I think) and his essay 'the death of an author'. So the whole "birth of a reader must mean the death of an author", where your readings of a text are given the same, if not more significance than the authors because they no longer hold possession. Especially applying like prodirectic code and even p-tourism theory leads to that whole argument about the redundant nature of knowledge and if creation is real.

We were forced to do a year of constructivism, hyperreality, self reflexivity, meta narratives and structuralist theory. Basically at 17 we had far too many post colonial theorists etched into our brains. I'll take it that your English studies are a bit different?

Have you ever been in a crowd where everyone else disappeared while you watched the band and you felt completely alone with the band? It's a funny thing. Sometimes it's powerful. Sometimes it's totally alienating.

I love this man.

The whole "being there together" vibe is so important for me at shows. It's awesome to see Geoff talk about it.

solid piece. it's sad that it's the truth. once any form of art is given to the people, it's no longer the artists' intentions, but that of how the general public perceives it. It's going in with an idea and reshaping that idea through others interpretations.
What's the status on your book?
