Very bold statement, and although I feel the need to instinctively disagree somewhat, it does really drive home what I feel this album achieves.
Pretty good review, love the point you make about the role the Foo's should take on and the RIYL. |
I agree this is the best work since the Colour and the Shape. One by One was good, but wasn't great. In Your Honour had good stuff going on as well, but I didn't give that second part of it a listen, and to me that brings it down a little bit. Echoes had some stand out tracks as well, but something felt missing. I keep listening to the songs on this latest effort, and just feel like they're back in the groove. Just watching the documentary and seeing behind the scenes of the making of this album in the garage it feels like they sat back and jammed out a bit on songs. got the songs to where they wanted them, and hit record. I love the sound of everything on this. Favorite and stand out track to me is Back and Forth. I think it almost has a punk feel to it, which is awesome.
