they're talented, raw, and they stand out. only tyler and earl shock lyrically, but it adds to the raw sound, and it's really just them telling a story. there's a lot of diversity in odd future, and everyone succeeds at what they're trying to do. im not sure how much hip hop you listen to, but they really are the most exciting thing in hip hop right now. although scene kids blasting them at wawa makes me cry inside....these bandwagon kids who know a few songs by tyler gets REALLLYYYYY annoying. but whatever. they're all jump off the bandwagon soon enough.
this. pop punk seems to be getting better lately, but hip hop is an extremely experimental genre. there simply aren't artists in pop punk with that creativity. which is fine, because really...who listens to pop punk for wildly different music? but there is always artists in hip hop doing that. always.
yeah people are getting too annoyed by their popularity. just because they don't like the music, it automatically has to be gimmicky |
I agree, but really, there are only a few good songs by Tyler. Bastard had so much filler, and I think some of his best stuff is when he's featured on other people's songs. Just sayin'. They're definitely exciting for modern hip hop, and their attitude is refreshing, which I love. Pop-punk is a very limited genre, while hip-hop in general is very broad, so its hard to compare, and people are always gonna get annoyed and look for the negative when something breaks out, its a given.
lol how ap has turned on odd future
