Okay, Earl Sweatshirt is an amazing pure rapper and he was only sixteen when he recorded his future classic 'EARL'
He's an incredibly amazing story teller (see: Luper) the twist in the story of that song at the end the first time you hear it is as incredible as it is sick and shocking.
More than once you will doubt you're listening to a sixteen year old when hearing 'EARL'
He's more of a poet than a rapper, a sick twisted sixteen year old poet.
Each of them have a strong talent and an edge to them that makes the collective captivating and intriguing like no other group in this generation has.
Seriously, if you haven't given them a chance at all, you should, you have nothing to lose, ALL THEIR TAPES ARE FREE.
If you don't like earl, you'll like tyler or Mellowhype or mike G or Frank Ocean or The Jet Age of Tommorow.
And if you don't like any of them at all, well, then hip hop is just not for you because in today's day and age OFWGKTA are hip hop at it's best. |
Not calling it a "classic" by a long shot... I think you might be caught up in the hype...
