There's been some discussion so far, so here's an official thread.

Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Joel McHale, and Patrick Warburton are all confirmed. Shoots later this year - not sure if it will be released in 2011 or not, but with motion capture and animation, I bet not.

I know most people here are over Family Guy, but what are the general thoughts on this one?

sounds terrible, just like most of MacFarlane's work after the first couple seasons of family guy.

Joel McHale is in final negotiations to join the cast of Seth MacFarlane’s upcoming comedy Ted. The story centers on a man (Mark Wahlberg) whose life is complicated when his childhood wish for his teddy bear, Ted (voiced and played by MacFarlane via motion capture), comes to life. Kunis will play the girlfriend of Wahlberg’s character who wants marriage, but only if her boyfriend gets a handle on his relationship with his pot-smoking, foul-mouthed, now-alive teddy bear. Deadline reports that “McHale will play Rex, the sleazy boss who is perpetually putting the moves on Kunis’ character.”


I think more of the plot details make this sound better,though honestly it sounds more like a dark comedy than what I would think MacFarlane is capable of

I'll give my thoughts once I read a plot that's more descriptive than "a man and his teddy bear".

I feel like it could be good if done right. And I sort of wish Wahlberg wasn't playing the main character.

Script is fucking hilarious and holds back no punches. I'm psyched to see what Seth Macfarlane does with his feature film debut, as I think he is a great writer, etc. American Dad is one of the funniest cartoons on television.

I didn't find it overtly raunchy, but I may be desensitized. Nothing in this film will surprised anyone aside from the fact that it's McFarlane doing live action, but I don't think that really matters. It's just fucking funny.

people expect like philosophical genius from Family Guy. Just dont expect too much and its a very enjoyable cartoon thats worth your 30 minutes. if you want real genius and go watch South Park
