I didn't think she'd say yes to him in the first place regardless of the logistics of whether it was really her or just her management team speaking on her behalf, so color me shocked. I still think she's got her head way up her own ass, but I respect her for making the final verdict on this, the verdict everyone was hoping for. Thumbs up to her for that.
Definitely smells like an ass covering to me. I really don't think any manager in the world is stupid enough to decline someone as well known as Weird Al with out even asking the artist first. It doesn't make any sense.
But it's good for him that he is able to put out the song and album.
