Bayside is really still getting "bigger"?

I figured they had been in a stalemate with popularity after The Walking Wounded. Their acoustic album helped them a bunch due to Winter and they rode that until TWW then I feel it kind of peaked and stayed there.

Why, because they put someone on their cover who's going to sell magazines?

Cool guy alert

Patrick Stump was included in the online feature

Did not see that. Still, you'd think he'd make the issue, seeing as Black Cards was in there.

That boat sailed in the 90s when they put Manson and ICP and all the nu metal bands on their covers
You're not actually putting Manson in the same category of ICP, I hope.

This depresses me...I remember when they had real bands on the cover...

I'm putting him in the same category of ridiculous bands on their cover. I suppose it's more in hindsight though. At the time it probably made sense cause our "scene" didn't really exist so Manson on the cover wasn't strange.

I know really, songwriters who perform their own music totally shouldn't be on the cover.

But it doesn't make sense. How are Manson and ICP alike in terms of "ridiculous"?

as I clarified, I meant it in more of a hindsight sort of way. Could you imagine Manson being on there now? Besides he was on there for the same reason altpress jumped on the nu metal band wagon, that's what sold copies at the time. The funny thing is they choose bands now within our scene that sell well within our scene (which is the main reason why people complain every time ap.net posts the cover), but not really mainstream.
