I can actually answer that question for you and it's a joke. Way back in 2007, my first real interview ever, I asked Kenny Lush about it and this is what he said:

"We were out on tour with Living With Lions and he was sleeping and it was dark out. Nick our singer was walking and accidentally stepped on him and in his sleep he said “This is Chase Brenneman” so we had to call the song that."
