Dying Californian, The - Coarsegold

Reviewed by: Russ Hockenbury (04/13/07)
The Dying CalifornianCoarsegold
Label: Turn Records
Release Date: April 10, 2007

Who:

Berkeley-based singer/songwriter Nathan Dalton leads his motley crew of former bay area hardcore kids down a dusty alt-country road. Goddamn! It sucks to get older.

How is it?:

A blend of traditional Americana, that Berkeley folk sound, and a twist of indie sensibility make this one into a bittersweet cocktail that fans of hip gray-haired folks like Willie Nelson and Neil Young might enjoy.
