I definitely agree that that the storm was literal but I'm not really sure what to make of it in terms of the impact it had on the meaning of the rest of the film or its metaphorical significance; hell, viewing the movie on a metaphorical level makes it extremely bleak because of the ending, ha.

this whole film, but especially the last 20 minutes or so, blew my mind. I loved it and will definitely be picking it up on Blu Ray on release day. I look forward to seeing more from Shannon, Chastain, and directing from Nichols. I'm going to go annoy my friends by recommending this a few times to them now.

I also can't wait to pick this up when it comes out. I just hope that there will be a dvd/blu ray combo. I haven't heard one announced yet so I don't know....but yes this movie for me was the best of 2011 hands down and yes it's shame it wasn't nominated for anything but sadly I can't say that I'm surprised.

I liked this a lot up until they go into the storm shelter after hearing the alarm. Shannon's performance was really great and the dream scenes were terrifying (to great effect). Then the last few scenes ruined it all for me.

Finally saw this and I fell absolutely in love with it; might just be my favorite film of last year.

I can't get over how emotional this movie made me, especially the end -- just hit me in such a strong way I can't even explain it.
