I had no idea he was married and had a kid. Kind of makes sense if you've watched him develope post-In Reverie.

Hey, I've like STD for over ten years and their best album is In Reverie. Chris even said that himself. The problem I have with this song and with majority of Under The Boards and onward is that it is too simple, so there is little to go back to and examine. Granted the band has never been a very complex affair, but I felt every song stems from the same idea or far too familar.
Agreed. I can understand if someone isn't a fan of the style, but if you don't see how musically superior it is to everything else they've done you don't know much about music.

Eek. Blows my mind that kids are saying that they're actually excited because this sounds like something off In Reverie. You guys heard Stay What You Are and Through Being Cool, right?

Chris's voice sounds different than usual on this recording, which is a good sign - because he's been singing from his nose for the past 3 albums. Glad someone finally put a stop to that.

Their bass lines just fell off since Eben quit the band.
Through Being Cool and Stay What You Are are classics without a doubt, but In Reverie is my favorite STD album & apparently it is a lot of others on AP.net as well. Also, this song doesn't do much for me. Looking forward to hearing more though!

This is a response in no one particular direction. Just a long time fan of STD and NJ music in general. As far as STD is concerned, I believe it is of no debate where they stand in terms of importance to their genre. They created classic songs and albums that many people, myself included, attach a lot of sentimental value to. With that said, In Reverie opened doors to an STD that 99% of us didn't know existed and truly couldn't appreciate until a few years later. Because of the immediate reaction to that album (being dropped from Dreamworks...etc most of us know the story), this is now the music Chris is making. I will be the first to say that this is not particularly my cup of tea. I believe that the reason why many STD fans like myself are turned off by this is simply because In Reverie leads me to believe that Chris, and whoever is surrounding him at a given time, are capable of more. I am disappointed that Chris has not displayed the potential that I know he has as a songwriter. Yet, to conclude, I am a supporter of anything STD related and COULD NOT be more happy that Chris and STD continue to make records. It's more than a lot of bands they came up with can say.
