Thats like saying that people that listen to Black Flag are scary cause they had violent fans in the late 70s/early 80s hence why Ron Reyes left the band.
But I've seen the same thing happen at punk shows, lineups with skatepunk bands and post-hardcore/emo openers and the older guys calling the kids in their generic hot-topic insta-punk outfit being yelled at and teased. I mean, I'm not defending it, but wearing an emo haircut to a slayer show with a slayer shirt on is probably not the brightest idea.
I mean, I'm personally vegan, but I wouldnt go see Slayer and start preaching to people to not eat meat and eat a raw vegetable based diet while dressed in hemp clothing lol. I dunno, its unfortunate that happened, and I certainly think every band has its own dicks but its not localized to metal. There are a lot of punk bands and metal bands and rock bands that have the same bullshit. From Nickleback to Metallica to Suicide Silence and everything in between, there are retarded people at shows. I would say the scariest fans are the ones that have seen GG Allin live and live by that lifestyle. They make Slayer jocks look like pansies. |
the thing is Slayer weren't even playing that edition of
download in 2010, and being coheed and cambria, a day to remember, 30 second to mars, atreyu, 36 crazyfists, all were, I don't think its unreasonable for the kid to attend "looking emo". anyway what was he supposed to do? shave his head for the festival?
