Thats like saying that people that listen to Black Flag are scary cause they had violent fans in the late 70s/early 80s hence why Ron Reyes left the band.

But I've seen the same thing happen at punk shows, lineups with skatepunk bands and post-hardcore/emo openers and the older guys calling the kids in their generic hot-topic insta-punk outfit being yelled at and teased. I mean, I'm not defending it, but wearing an emo haircut to a slayer show with a slayer shirt on is probably not the brightest idea.

I mean, I'm personally vegan, but I wouldnt go see Slayer and start preaching to people to not eat meat and eat a raw vegetable based diet while dressed in hemp clothing lol. I dunno, its unfortunate that happened, and I certainly think every band has its own dicks but its not localized to metal. There are a lot of punk bands and metal bands and rock bands that have the same bullshit. From Nickleback to Metallica to Suicide Silence and everything in between, there are retarded people at shows. I would say the scariest fans are the ones that have seen GG Allin live and live by that lifestyle. They make Slayer jocks look like pansies.

the thing is Slayer weren't even playing that edition of download in 2010, and being coheed and cambria, a day to remember, 30 second to mars, atreyu, 36 crazyfists, all were, I don't think its unreasonable for the kid to attend "looking emo". anyway what was he supposed to do? shave his head for the festival?

All of the Juggalos that I know (which is kind of a lot, coming from a small city in Indiana) are far nicer and more tolerable than most of the people on this site, so I don't know what you're talking about.

Look when I made that post 2007. Talk about digging up old threads.

a kid I know from another music forum, got the shit beaten out him (knocked to the ground, chest stamped and jumped on) at the download festival in the uk, as some Slayer fans were angry that a guy with a "emo haircut" was wearing a Slayer shirt. Maybe it was just those guys (download is the roughest festival in the uk after all), but there were also fights between Slayer and Slipknot fans in 2004 at the Slipknot/Slayer/Hatebreed/Mastodon show in Birmingham. In my gigs going days it did make me nervous of seeing Slayer live, those stories.

So you're using one experience from what I assume is another country to justify Slayer fans? You bumming me out man

I'm British, so I guess its my country. I love Slayer as well. maybes its just my country's Slayer fans but they don't have a good rep in the UK. People often complain about them at festivals and shows. Over here there are people who like Slayer, and then there are Slayer fans but to be honest as time goes past that particular gripe is being replaced by complaints about Machine Head/Lamb of God fans as the younger generation aren't as into Slayer as past ones were :( I guess over here metal meatheads are stereotyped as being big fans of Slayer. The one person I know who is in the Slaytanic whatyoucallit is sound, and sticks up for Slayer fans when people tease him about it, so maybe its just a few bad apples. I'm going to listen to Divine Intervention now anyways

But I've seen more people get beat up when I was in Liverpool for not likig motorhead then for anything related to Slayer. Britain, more or less is a pretty violent places in some places. Brighton, Birmingham, Liverpool etc. Having traveled I would think its more an immediate local environmental issue then a global issue. I see plenty of people at pop-punk, post hardcore or if I have to call it Emo shows wearing Maiden and Slayer shirts and there isnt issue. I wore a Thursday shirt with a dove on it to Metalfest lol. Nobody beat me up.

Yeah it kind of does because where I lived then I was surrounded by Juggalos who were annoying. Now I barely even see one a month, so I wouldn't say they are as annoying as some other fans.

I hate to say it but NOFX. Because 80"% of their fan base has no idea that first of all their name means "no fucking straight edge" or understands that most of the lyrics are making fun of them, that is the actual fan who only has a NOFX, Pennywise, Simple Plan, Offspring and Green Day album while only knowing the lyrics to my vagina..

Yea, but there is more than annoying ICP fans.

I used to hate skating back in the day and you run into some guy with a Ten Foot Pole or Pennywise shirt on and all they know is the song ADD or Bro Hymm. Shit like that definitely counts.

Every band has annoying fans, that's just how it goes. Hell, we're all probably annoying when talking about our favorite artists.

But yeah, Slayer.
