their early material before that terrible plane crash disaster in '77 taking the lives of van zant (singer/songwriter), steve gaines (guitarist/vocalist), cassie gaines (vocalist), along with the assistant road manager & both pilots, was some superb rockin' tunes. one of the very few bands, where having three guitars actually works. but i don't think their latter day material should be overlooked, sure it's not the same but still not a bad listen
& yea 'call me the breeze' is such a sweet cover as well (jj cale original). one of those bands that just deserve to be played loud over your sound system haha. i'm also lovin' how it seems to be you, me & a few others that always reply to each others threads haha good times, good tunes
That's true, I see what you mean about their early material, and about them having three guitarists and making it work. The only other band I can think of in that category is Bad Religion. (Iron Maiden pull it off now and then, but sometimes they really falter)
And yes their newer stuff isn't really that cool with me, haha, but to each their own.
And yeah dude, it's great how several of us all on here always reply to each other's threads and stuff haha. Good times and good tunes indeed.
