Easy there, tiger. Just a game.

And one I don't care about, at that. The NBA is by far and large the professional league I care least about. I just wanted Lebron to lose because of his "decision show" and all the hype he surrounded himself to essentially screw over the city that gave him his start. I hate Cleveland (being from Pittsburgh), but the way he screwed them over by broadcasting how he wants to "take his talents to South Beach" is despicable. It was like a State of the Union address. You're only human, Bron Bron, get over it. And, thanks to the Mavs for showing you that.

That said, I've always had an affinity for Dirk and Kidd, and Cuban for being a funny/cool owner (and from Pittsburgh) but could overall careless about the Mavs and the NBA.
If you don't care... how are you a Mavs fan? Clearly you care enough to wish for the failure and futility of a man in accomplishing something he has set out to do since he was born. Seriously, he's done everything he could to win. I cannot argue that he is worth rooting for (really don't care too much for him, but he's not a bad person). What kind of person cheers when another fails? It's for losers, through and through! I can't believe you're accusing me of the hyperbole here.

Your holier than thou erection is showing, might want to cover that up...

At the end of the day, fans watch sports for the entertainment it provides them, as is the case sometimes, rooting for rivals/dicks to fail comes with the territory, no one in actuality wishes harm upon him so why do you care so sincerely?

Never said I was a Mavs fan. Just said I was happy to see the Heat lose. Don't assume things: make an ass outta u and me.

I don't "wish" for the "failure and futility" of anyone. I simply wanted the Mavs to win because Lebron James is an arrogant prick.

Cool, so he's on par with every other athlete in the world? Who doesn't do everything they can to win? Should I like him more because of this? Not sure where you're going with this.

The kind of person that dislikes the potential winner always cheers when they lose. It's natural instinct. I didn't tattoo I LOVE DIRK on my face or anything. You're making this out to be so much more than it is. People dislike Lebron James for the arrogant ass that he is, and they root against him because they don't want his ego fed anymore. This has been happening since the beginning of sports. No one has a vendetta against only Lebron. Peruse the sports forums whenever the Penguins or Capitals are still in it, and check out all the "As long as Sid loses," and "Fuck Ovechkin, hope he loses" comments. People dislike other people, and like them to not win so they don't have to hear from that person about how great they are.

Fine then, if you "believe you can speak for them", why do you think they wouldn't care as much about their own team winning just to mock someone who they personally dislike?

"I'm happier to see the Heat lose more so than the Mavs win. And I think I speak for 95% other "Mavs fans" when I say this." - that sounds like wishing for the failure and futility, your words not mine.

Yes, he's just like every other athlete in the world, which is why he left. He's not John Stockton, he's not Karl Malone. He wants to win a title, and multiple contract extensions later, he figured out it wouldn't be in Cleavland. You can stand on your soapbox and talk about how horrible his ridiculously promoted (99% by ESPN) decision was such a "Dick move" but So, so many athletes would have done the same.

If you root for the demise of an opponent who demonstrates NO sense of ill will or evil behavior who is not a natural rival over the success of your own team, you're a piss poor fan. And I really hate fans like that. That's why I care so much. Bad fans harm my enjoyment of sports.

I'm just tired of assholes cheering, hooting and hollering at someone they don't like losing, in such unprecedented ways, especially when no promises were ever made about the results of this years' finals.

It doesn't make me better than anyone. In fact I'm much worse. I care way too much about assholes.

"Mavs fans" was in quotation for a reason, kid. By "Mavs fans," I meant those that consider themselves fans only because they were the lesser of two evils.

When you don't care about either team when it comes right down to it, but you dislike the Heat more than you like the Mavs, yes, you can be happier to see a team lose more so than for the Mavs to win. Not wishing for "failure and futility," just disliking a team more than liking the other.

Thank you for bringing up something totally irrelevant. His "wanting to win a title" and desperate attitude to do so doesn't make me like him any more. Sidney Crosby joined the worst hockey franchise in the league when he joined the Pens. Patiently, he waited for a good team to be built around him. And now he's been to the Cup twice, and has his name on it. He could have easily gone to Detroit or some other city that had more of a shot, but his devotion to the city and faith in the team/franchise meant more to him, and he knew a Cup would come. Many, many, MANY other athletes do the same, and try and build a team around them. He took the cheap way out; don't try to make it any different.

And no, Lebron James called the press conferences, and ESPN decided to broadcast it. "The Decision" was entirely of his own volition. ESPN can't force him to make a decision of where to go and to broadcast it on cable television.

Once again, I never, ever, EVER claimed to be a fan. I don't care about the NBA. In comparison to other professional sports leagues, I find it to be a joke. I'd prefer the MLB, EPL, NHL, etc. I won't take the lauding of being a "bad NBA fan," because I'm not a fan at all. But what I do know is that Lebron James is an ego that I'm happy to not see win. It's no different than the people that drove around with the "Anybody But Bush" stickers in 2004.

Get off your high horse and realize you hold the same grudges against teams/players you don't like, and stop acting like you're absolutely thrilled with any and every player/team to ever hoist a trophy.

Jordan never won a championship on his own either. He always had Pippen with him.
Well, no crap. You can't have one superstar and have the rest of the team be scrubs and win a championship. It's not like the Cavs had a bunch of nobodies outside of LeBron, though. You could certainly argue that the Bulls core was better since Pippen is also one of the 50 greatest NBA players, but Jamison (2 time all-star) and Varejao are also strong players and the Cavs just happened to have the best record in the league two years in a row.

Good to see Kidd and Dirk get their rings.

Fuck the Heat. Tried to take a shortcut and got shut the fuck down.
The whole "shortcut" criticism is really stupid.

As long as we're throwing crazy dreams to the wind, I can't wait for the Kings to take it all!
T-Wolves are going all the way next year, baby! Our savior is here!

On another note, sorry, but LeBron is no Michael Jordan. Not even close. Not by a fucking longshot.
That argument has always been laughable, but LeBron's combined Finals performances makes it downright hilarious. LeBron is not and will never be Jordan's caliber of player (to be fair, almost no one is, of course). He doesn't want to be "the man," he's not a team player and he doesn't have the heart of a champion.

It really isn't. I'm going to have to agree with the legends (MJ & Bird).
