03:31 PM on 04/27/07 | Why did their second album have to suck so much? Just like Yellowcard, I fell out of love with these guys. Oh well, there's always a third album. :)

The Killers and Yellowcard shouldn't be compared to one another.
You know nothing. | | |

There are four or five bands who cover Love Will Tear Us Apart. New Wave emo bands think it's cool to cover old songs about love..
|
06:27 PM on 04/27/07 | Yeah, Fall Out Boy covered Love Will Tear Us Apart, but it is refreshing to hear bands cover other Joy Division songs for a change. Plus, the Killers were requested to cover a Joy Division song for the Ian Curtis biopic and they had the blessing of New Order (aka living former members of Joy Division).
Oh, and they second cd doesn't suck. I think it takes awhile to warm up, but technically the guys have improved significantly. They do more instrumentally and vocally. Also, it is a lot more personal album. Why Do I Keep Counting talks about Brandon's fear of flying, on Sam's Town he talks about real family members-his brother Shane and his grandmother Dixie. He talks about his real-life Uncle and Bling is about his father. These personal attributes show through in their live performance because the guys are a lot more attached to these songs. The only song off of Hot Fuss that they could connect to like this was Andy, You're a Star. Give Sam's Town another listen and look a little deeper.

06:56 PM on 04/27/07 | I really love shadowplay and despite how much i dislike the killers it'll be interesting to hear what they've done.
EDIT: Its horrible. It sucks all the eeriness out of the Joy Division version which is what makes Shadowplay Shadowplay.

The second albumm was good... it just wasn't the first album.. Why do fans expect musicians to keep making the same music? The album kicks off with such power in the First track Sam's Town, and then hopscotches through the record from one gem to the next... When you were young, for reason's unknown, read my mind, Bones, the river is wild, exitlude... if you were really a fan, give it another chance, please. Treat as a new thing and not like an extension of Hot Fuss.

And who are you that you think you're any better? Why the violence? He's a rock star, get over it. And then seek therapy.

09:30 AM on 04/28/07 | If the last Killers record was their first everybody would love it.

09:51 AM on 04/28/07 | I think their sophomore album is better, but that's my opinion.
I think everyone who dislikes the sophomore album was expecting something more like the "Hot Fuss" sound and hasn't been open minded toward Sam's Town, but it really is a great album.
I really respect this band and saw them live at the Staples Center. They were awesome live, and that's a huge understatement.
As for whoever was hating on Brandon Flowers, I don't think you should judge someone in such a manner unless you personally know them.
My perception of Brandon Flowers is that he can be perceived as "arrogant" because he is very prideful in his music, and I think he has a right to be, he is talented. A lot of people fail to realize that they are really great and genuine to their fans. Because they prefer not to live in the media spotlight, it's easy to misjudge them based on a few rumors you've heard.
