Friend's band, recently played at Glastonbury on the BBC introducing stage. Sort of like the Foals mixed with Pulled Apart By Horses.

Caves is cool, looking forward to that album.

Last Coliseum record was really strong, although this is just live stuff.

Kinda forgot about Victorian Halls.

If you have never heard Farraday before, you need to go check them out right now because they are a really awesome band. Also you should check out another really great band from Chicago called Adora. Here's a link to their website which has links to all the other websites they're on: http://adoraband.com/.

Meet Chesapeake John Decker – Red Sammy’s Dedicated Resonator Guitar Player: www.redsammy.com

I met 61 year old, Baltimore-native, John Decker, (his friends refer to him as simply “Decker”) 3 or so years ago through a circle of musicians in Baltimore.
His introduction to Red Sammy happened back in late 2009 when he agreed to go on a 3-day, 5 show mini tour to TN, NC, and southern VA with me. Our band configuration for the tour was me on acoustic guitar and vocals, Julia Oat-Judge on cello, and Theron Melchior on bass and musical saw. There was no better time, I thought, to introduce a traditional Americana/roots music type instrument than during our road trip down south. It was getting colder, the leaves were dying, and our unique brand of “graveyard country” music was spreading to what is typically thought to be territory for traditional and bluegrass music.

I never anticipated Decker being as key an ingredient to the stew of our band’s sound, but now I’m more than grateful for his time, dedication, and presence on the new album, A Cheaper Kind of Love Song. Key tracks that highlight his playing include: “Camping Trailer”, “Amsterdam”, and “It Ain’t You”. In fact, “It Ain’t You” was shelled out by myself and Decker in a Super 8 Motel in Knoxville, TN one afternoon between gigs.

His playing style is all his own; think of an unpolished “gypsy jazz” player meeting a deeply spiritual, yet carefree honeybee handler. This is Decker – the honeybee handler part is not just a metaphor! Take a listen to the new album and hear for yourself: A Cheaper Kind of Love Song

We'd be stoked to have anyone review our EP. We have a long "ex members of list" but have put our focus into music we grew up with that we love dearly. If you are into bands such as mineral, american football, the promise ring, penfold - we are right up your ally.

Here is the download link for our EP, artwork and one sheet:

Thanks and take care.
