Wake The Day - Continous EP
Song 1 "Critical Common Sense"
Background: Wake the Day came to AP.net with an idea: The band will record one song a month for the next 4-6 months until they have completed an EP. Each song will be recorded and mastered at a different studio and each song will be reviewed here on the website - this will lead up to an entire EP review at the end of the project.
Song 1 "Critical Common Sense"
The new single “Critical Common Sense” by Louisville, KY natives Wake The Day is a pure pop song that may remind you vocally of Panic! At The Disco and a guitar tone similar to June.
The track is uppity and full of life - the song could sync perfectly with a pillow fight at a cheerleader’s sleepover and has the ability to be stuck in your head for hours. "Critical Common Sense" does have a few minor flaws. For starters a similarity to most other pop-rock leaves the listener wondering what band is currently playing from their iPod playlist. The vocals tend to sway back and forth between high and low pitches almost as if a diva was putting on the finish touches to singing the national anthem.
Pop fans, rejoice, this will become one of your new favorites. I can bet you’ll be singing the track on your next drive to work. Wake The Day has shown just a taste of what they can do, and expect them to spice up their delicious flavor in the future.
