This and the Christpuncher songs sound really calculated compared to The Cosmic Drama. Not a bad thing at all, just an observation.

Basically all of this. That "more calculated" spund is probably due to Brian having a more concrete band around. He wrote and recorded all of The Cosmic Drama save for drum parts. But, yeah, all the new stuff sounds much bigger - like American Art.

Brian is God.
