They need to play Tebow. If they go 2-14, and he shows them nothing - then they can just draft a QB in the first round of the draft, whether it's Andrew Luck, Matt Barkley, or someone else. Tebow played good for them in the games he started last year, but he's not a typical QB type - you can't judge him in practice, he's not the most accurate guy, not the most traditional guy, but in games he has a knack for making plays. Last year he proved he could rush and score TDs in the NFL.
Who cares who drafted him? Fox didn't draft Orton or Quinn either. Fox is the coach now and rolling out a mediocre team with a mediocre RB, a mediocre WR corps, and a mediocre QB does nothing to help you this year or for the future.
If you're think you've got a playoff shot, you give it a go with a veteran QB for a bit and if it doesn't work you play your rookie, give him experience and then transition to him as the starter. That's what Cleveland did last year, now McCoy is in place as a starter. That's what Tennessee and Minnesota and Jacksonville are doing this year. That's also what the Broncos did last year, but for some reason, they are repeating it - one transitional year is fine, but doing the same thing 2 years in a row makes no sense. Their fans have every right to be annoyed. This is going to be a complete waste of a year for that franchise. | | |
